If you can't sail into the historic port of Mystic Seaport, the next best way to arrive
is by recreational vehicle. Such is the opinion of the thousands of families who include
the Seaport on their summer and fall itineraries in the Northeast.
The nation's largest maritime museum, the Seaport sprawls over 17 scenic acres along
the Mystic River, only a few shore miles from the ocean. In addition to a full daily
schedule of demonstrations, sea chanteys and children's activities, there are also special
events throughout the year. Families will find something for everyone at the Seaport
including a Planetarium show, a Children's Museum, daily games and tours of maritime
treasures. There's also scenery to please any photographer, good food to tempt any palate,
and shopping at the Seaport stores to satisfy both souvenir hunters and collectors.
Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun Resort Casinos are major tourist attractions in
the New London County area. They are world class casinos and resorts along with table
games, slots, off track wagering, poker etc. They also feature shopping and entertainment.
Nearby accommodations & camping are plentiful & some of the best Atlantic coast
beaches lie only minutes away. The Seaport is open daily, year-round except for December
25.
